How to Configure Your Dune: Awakening Server (Private Server Setup Guide)

Looking to create your own slice of Arrakis? Whether you're planning a chill PvE outpost, a brutal PvP warzone, or a thriving roleplay (RP) community, configuring your Dune: Awakening private server is where it all begins. This guide walks you through every available setting in your server panel—optimized for fast setup, smooth gameplay, and full creative control.

⚠️ Note: These are the configuration settings available at launch. We’ll update this guide as more options become available with future game or panel updates.

⚙️ Dune: Awakening Server Configuration Settings

Here’s what you’ll see in your server panel when setting up your private server:

1. Server Name

This is how players will find your server in the server list, so choose wisely.
• Must be unique—no duplicate names allowed.
• Offensive or inappropriate names will be blocked.
• If your name doesn’t work, the panel will give you an error—just tweak and try again.

Tip: Add tags like PvP, RP, or No Wipes to attract the right players.

2. Server Password

All servers start with a default password to keep strangers out.
• You can remove the password to make your server public.
• If a password is set, players must enter it to join your server—even when visiting from another server in the same world.

Use this to: Host private friend groups, RP communities, or limited-access events.

3. Sandstorms: Enabled / Disabled

Controls whether sandstorms are active on your server.
Enabled: Sandstorms will damage players and structures not protected inside a building.
Disabled: No sandstorm events. The desert is just a little friendlier.

4. Security Zones: Enabled / Disabled

Toggle structured PvP rules.
Enabled: Default security zones apply—safe and danger zones exist.
Disabled: PvP is enabled everywhere. No mercy, no safe zones.

5. Taxation: Enabled / Disabled

Affects base shield maintenance and tax systems.
Enabled: You must pay taxes to keep base shields active. No payment = no protection.
Disabled: Shields stay up for free. No taxes collected.

🔄 Settings Require a Restart

Changing any setting (e.g. toggling sandstorms, adjusting PvP rules) requires a server restart to take effect.
Restart time: Usually takes a few minutes.
• Make all your changes first to avoid restarting multiple times.

🔌 How to Connect to Your Dune: Awakening Private Server

Once your server is configured, here’s how to find and join it in-game:

Step 1: Select the Correct Region

Match the region name shown at the top of your server panel (e.g. EU, NA).

Step 2: Select the Correct World

Choose the matching world name (e.g. xREALM I) listed on your server page.

Step 3: Find Your Server

Scroll through the server list in-game under that world until you spot your server name.

Step 4: Enter the Password

Enter the server password you set in the panel.
(All servers start with a default password—you can change or remove it later.)
